Lucille Martin, 90 of Athens, passed away peacefully Thursday, July16, 2026, at Riverside Methodist Hospital, Columbus Ohio with her son and daughter-in-law by her side.

Born February 23, 1936, in Columbus Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Lucille Mash.

She was a member of the Church of Christ, New Marshfield Ohio.

She enjoyed being a homemaker and spending time with her family and friends. She loved going to the Athens Senior center every Wednesday, where she spent time with her four sisters playing wheelchair volleyball and participating in all the events.

She had no greater joy than spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by a son, Mike (Ibby) Martin; 4 sisters, Pauline Mathias, Joan Stump, Shirley Hutchinson (Frank), and Vicky Miller; 9 grandchildren, Joshua Martin (Jenna), Dustin Martin, Christopher Martin, Nicole Cossin, Heather Thompson (Pete), Kinesthe Artiaga (Austin), Ashley Campbell (Frank), Misty Adams (Brad), and Austin Farson (Cherish); great-grandchildren, Jeramiah McGrath, Knevek, Aurican, Ian, Jabe, Elijah, Lilith, Lily, Sidney, Frankie, Caysen, Piper, and Colton; two great-great-grandchildren, Axton and Oakley; and several nieces and nephews.

Besides per parents she was preceded in death by her husband, James A Martin; her daughter, Cindy; a sister, Patsy Rutter; and a brother, Jesse Mash.

Honoring her wishes, a graveside service was held, Thursday July 23, 2026, at 11:00 am at New Marshfield Cemetery.
