James H. Grover, age 84, of South Bloomingville, Ohio, passed away April 10, 2025, at The Pickering House, Lancaster, Ohio.
Jim was born November 22, 1940, in Carroll, Ohio to William and Beatrice Grover. Jim, a lifelong farmer, loved horses, fishing, hunting, and farming.
Surviving are his son, Jamie (Tara) Grover of South Bloomingville and daughter, Shelley (Jerry) Phillips of Lancaster; grandchildren, Tyler (Laura) Phillips, Corbin (Caitlin) Phillips, Anthony Hoenie, Dylan Grover, Avarie Grover, Caitlin (Greg) Underwood, Kelsey McCabe, and Riley McCabe; seven great-grandchildren; siblings, David Grover, Bob (Alice) Grover, Vickie (Jerry) Detwiler, and Donita (Eddy) Boyer; sister-in-law, Sue Grover; and brothers-in-law, Jim Harmon and Dick Smith.
Jim was preceded in death by his loving wife of almost 43 years, Diane Grover; parents; son, Randy Johnston; and siblings, Donnie (Ruth) Grover, Gary Grover, Sharon Harmon, Linda Smith, Norma Gieseck, and Deloris (Al) Russell.
Funeral services were held at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, April 16, 2025, at the Heinlein-Brown Funeral Home of Logan, Ohio, with Rev. Mike Thomas officiating. Burial followed at Floral Hills Memory Gardens in Lancaster, Ohio.
Calling hours were observed from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Tuesday, April 15, 2025, and from 9:00 AM till the time of the service on Wednesday, April 16, 2025, at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations, in James’ name to FarHoPe Hospice 282 Sells Rd. Lancaster, Ohio 43130.
