Raymond L. McLaughlin, age 80, of Logan, Ohio, passed away June 15, 2025, at OSU Wexner Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio.
Raymond was born August 4, 1944, in Albany, Ohio to Lewis W. and Luellen E. McLaughlin. Raymond was a 1962 graduate of Hamden High School and a proud Air Force Veteran. In Raymond’s younger years he was a homestead farmer of his 8 Acres, growing his own food and raising animals. He worked for many years for CSX Railroad as a Track Supervisor and was a gun enthusiast that loved hunting. He spent the last 25 years as a lay minister for prisons and jails, helping troubled people and bringing them into the light. Most of all, Raymond loved God and spending time with his beloved family.
Surviving are his children, Beth Ann (Ian) Lenegar, Ray (Angel) McLaughlin, and Liz McLaughlin; grandchildren, Amie (Harry) Manring, Brandon (Morgan) Kuhn, and Lacee (Dillon) Roop; great-grandchildren, Brock Mullins, Grayson Roop, Dawson Kuhn, and Bryson Kuhn; brothers-in-law, John and Kenny Horrocks; sister, Sandra Bates; and numerous nieces and nephews
Raymond was preceded in death by his loving wife of 40 years, Carolyn McLaughlin; parents, Lewis W. and Luellen E. McLaughlin; and mother-in-law, Mary E. Horrocks.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM, Friday, June 20, 2025, at the Logan Church of the Nazarene in Logan, Ohio with Pastor Tom Gates III officiating. There will be Military Honor services at the church by the Hocking County Honor Guard. Burial will be in Radcliff Cemetery, Radcliff, Ohio (Vinton County).
Calling hours will be observed from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Thursday, June 19, 2025, at the Heinlein-Brown Funeral Home of Logan, Ohio, and from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM on Friday, June 20, 2025, at the church prior to the service.
