George David Burgess, age 75, of New Straitsville, Ohio, passed away June 14, 2025, at Fairfield Medical Center, Lancaster, Ohio.

George was born on September 9, 1949, in Lancaster, Ohio to John O. Burgess and Dorothy B. Shaw Burgess. He retired from GE in Logan; loved restoring trucks, trap shooting and being on his brushhog tractor; and he was a big Ohio State Fan.

Surviving are wife of 56 years, Cathy Burgess; sisters-in-law, Chris (Steve) Dickerson and Tammy (Steve) Thompson; many special friends; nieces, Jennifer (Ben) Fickel, Allison Horner, and Addison Fickel; and nephews, Ian Horner, James Leonard, and Nathan (Molly) Dickerson.

George was preceded in death by his parents; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Howard & Alice Slusher; and sister-in-law, Deidre Slusher.

Funeral services will be held at 11 am, Thursday, June 19, 2025, at the Heinlein-Brown Funeral Home, Logan, Ohio with Pastor Stephen Delong officiating. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, Logan, Ohio.

Calling hours will be observed 5-8 pm Wednesday at the funeral home.
