Walter Eugene Harper, age 77, of Logan, Ohio, went to be with his Lord, surrounded by his loving family, on September 3, 2025, at Fairfield Medical Center, Lancaster, Ohio.

Walt was born January 1, 1948, in Big Pine, Ohio, to Forest Harper and Helen Harper.  He was a US Marine Corps and Vietnam War veteran and was awarded the Purple Heart.                            

He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Deborah Harper; two sons, Jay Harper and Ryan Harper; two daughters, Holly Harper and Shawn Harper; two brothers, Rick (Sue) Harper and Doug (Juanitia) Harper; three sisters, Cathy (Dallas) Hart, Shirley (Danien) Stevens, and Ruby (Ricky) Burns; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Walt was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers-in-law.

Calling hours will be observed from 3 to 6 P.M. with funeral services at 6:00 P.M., Wednesday, September 10, 2025, at the Heinlein-Brown Funeral Home, Logan, Ohio with Pastor Daniel Fuchs officiating.

A Military Honors service will be observed prior to the funeral service at the funeral home.

Burial will be in Arlington National Cemetery, Washington DC.
