Lafe Rickey Barnett, age 67, of McConnellsville, Ohio, passed away September 13, 2025, at his residence.

Lafe was born March 23, 1958, in Columbus, Ohio to Lafe J. Barnett and Betty Ruth Moore Barnett. He enjoyed fishing, boating, building, and spending time with his family.                        

Surviving are wife, Lynda Barnett (Tilley); children, Lisa (Doug) Richards, Elizabeth Skinner, Naomi Teal, Crystal (Steven) Malone, Diana (Allen) Little, Shawn (Nicole) Richards, Paula (Otis) Spaulding, Mistee Freeman, Kenny Graham, Dianne Graham, and Shelia Graham; 35 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; brother, Darren Barnett; sisters, Patricia (Terry) Spangler and Edna (Chuck) Gordon; friend, Matthew Myers; and special nephew, Mark Barnett.

Lafe was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Melinda Barnett; son, Lafe R. Barnett Jr; grandson, Carson Richards; granddaughter, Destiny Richards; and siblings, Robert Barnett, Laura Arnett, and Ruby Newman.

Funeral services were held at 2 pm Thursday September 18, 2025, at the Heinlein-Brown Funeral Home, Logan, Ohio with Giovanni Myers, Mark Millik, and James Bailey officiating. Burial was in Laurel Cemetery.  Following the graveside service, a dinner was held at the House of Prayer in Jacksonville.

Calling hours were observed 6-8 pm Wednesday, and 1-2 pm Thursday at the funeral home.
