John E. “Jack” Hunter, age 83, of Logan, Ohio, passed away October 4, 2025, at University Medical Center, Columbus, Ohio.
Jack was born February 19, 1942, in Athens County, Ohio to John William Hunter and Clara Paker Hunter. He graduated J-T High School in Trimble; served in the US Air Force during the Vietnam War; member of the Eagles in Logan, the Moose Lodge in Logan, and a life-member of the AmVets in Logan; and loved motorcycles, hunting, fishing, playing horseshoes, camping, and nature.
Surviving are his wife of 62 years, Rosie Mohler Hunter; daughters, Mary (Greg) Hudson of Logan, Jacqueline Perry of Logan, and Melissa (Mike) Nester of Logan; son, Scott (Janell) Hunter of Logan; multiple grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and brother, Roger Hunter of Hollister.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Donald Moleski.
Funeral services will be held at 10 A.M., Saturday October 11, 2025, at the Heinlein-Brown Funeral Home, Logan, Ohio, with Rev. Dr. Randy Hardman officiating. Burial will be in Knollwood Cemetery, Logan, Ohio, where Military Graveside services will be conducted by the Hocking County Honor Guard.
Calling hours will be observed 5-8 pm Friday, October 10, 2025, at the funeral home.
