John E. Hunter

John E. “Jack” Hunter, age 83, of Logan, Ohio, passed away October 4, 2025, at University Medical Center, Columbus, Ohio.

Jack was born February 19, 1942, in Athens County, Ohio to John William Hunter and Clara Parker Hunter. He graduated J-T High School in Trimble; served in the US Air Force during the Vietnam War; member of the Eagles in Logan, the Moose Lodge in Logan, and a life-member of the AmVets in Logan; and loved motorcycles, hunting, fishing, playing horseshoes, camping, and nature.                         

Surviving are his wife of 62 years, Rosie Mohler Hunter; daughters, Mary (Greg) Hudson of Logan, Jacqueline Perry of Logan, and Melissa (Mike) Nester of Logan; son, Scott (Janell) Hunter of Logan; multiple grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and brother, Roger Hunter of Hollister.

Jack was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Donald Moleski.

Funeral services were held at 10 A.M., Saturday October 11, 2025, at the Heinlein-Brown Funeral Home, Logan, Ohio, with Rev. Dr. Randy Hardman officiating. Burial was in Knollwood Cemetery, Logan, Ohio, where Military Graveside services were conducted by the Hocking County Honor Guard.

Calling hours were observed 5-8 pm Friday at the funeral home. There was a Moose service at 5 PM during calling hours.
