Lucretia J. Crihfield, age 81, of Athens, Ohio, formerly of Nelsonville, passed away peacefully on November 7, 2025, after an extended stay at Kimes Nursing Home in Athens.
Lucretia was born September 9, 1944, in Nelsonville, Ohio to Joe Dalton and Kathleen Fellem Dalton. She was a 1962 graduate of Nelsonville High School; and attended the Buchtel United Methodist Church/ The Village Church.
Surviving are sons, John (Kim) Adams of Logan, Tim (Kelly) Adams of Nelsonville, and Chuck (Julie) Adams of Logan; sisters, Mary Jane Lax of Nelsonville, Connie (Gary) Hazlett of Nelsonville, Cathy (Jarret) Stage of Nelsonville, and Susan (John) Whitmore of Parma; grandchildren, Alexandria Adams of Logan, Sarah (Dakota) Hook of San Antonio Texas, Abigail (Sean) Ennis of Davenport, Florida, Nicholas Adams, Jacob (Misty) Craig of Bremen, Alexis (Ryan) Newlun of Columbus, and Kaitlynn Shryock of Columbus; great-grandchildren, Brooklynn Newlun, Theodore Hook, Benjamin Hook, Olivia Craig, and Henry Craig; special nephew, Rob (Missy) Kuhn; lifelong friend, Carolyn Riley of Florida; and special friend, Shawna Burke.
Lucretia was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charles Lloyd Crihfield; siblings, Joe “Bucky” Dalton, Charles Dalton, Hubert Dalton, Thomas Dalton, Elizabeth Lewis, Judy Crihfield, and Rebecca Steenrod; and a grandson, Caleb Thomas Adams.
Funeral services will be held at 1 P.M., Wednesday November 12, 2025, at the Warren-Brown Funeral Home, Nelsonville, Ohio with Pastor Dave Shoemaker officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, Nelsonville, Ohio.
Calling hours will be 11 am – 1 pm Wednesday at the funeral home.
