Marlene S. Roop, age 81, of Logan, Ohio, passed away December 7, 2025, at The Pickering House in Lancaster, Ohio.

Marlene was born September 21, 1944, in Logan, Ohio to Hugh and Mildred Rittgers. Marlene loved going shopping and spending money on the grandchildren. She also enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

Surviving are her son, Ron (Daphane) Thompson; 4 grandchildren, Brittney Smith, Brandon (Caroline) Thompson, Chelsea (Nathan) Harter, and A.J. Culbertson; 9 great-grandchildren, Hunter, Kayden, Faith, Jonathan, Bailee, Karlee, Paisley, Piper, and Braxton; sister-in-law, Martha Rittgers; nieces, Teressa Geil and Shelia Rittgers; friends, Betty Johnson, Sylvia Vorhees, and numerous other close friends; and 2 fur babies, Cuddles and Bella.

Marlene was preceded in death by loving husband, Gary Roop; parents; daughter, Tina Marie Thompson; and siblings, Alison Rittgers, Mick Rittgers, Ron Rittgers, Donna Snyder, and Harley Rittgers.

There will be no services at this time.

Arrangements are by the Heinlein-Brown Funeral Home of Logan, Ohio.
