Robert “Bob” James Kuykendall

Robert “Bob” James Kuykendall, age 75, passed away Monday evening, January 5, 2026.  He was born on January 25, 1950, in Bakersfield, California, the son of the late Albert and Betty Kuykendall.

Bob is survived and missed by his wife of 51 years, Helen Kuykendall, and his children, Kimberly Kuykendall of Groveport and Alicia (Brian) Damron of Grove City. Bob is also forever cherished and remembered by his two grandchildren, Kendall and Kyle Damron; one brother William (Ferney) Kuykendall of Arizona; and cousin, Sandy (Rich) Burkhiser of Colorado. In addition, he leaves behind many other family members and tons of friends who will sadly miss him.

Bob received his Associates in Arts degree from Taft College (’70), then following graduation, he enlisted in the United States Air Force.  While enlisted, he was stationed in Japan, Louisiana, Illinois, Alaska and North Dakota where he worked as a Medical Laboratory Technician. He also helped out at some of the VA hospitals during that time. He retired from the Air Force as a Master Sargent in 1993 after proudly serving for 21 years.

Following his service, he proceeded to work at Graybar Electric Company for 21 years. He started off in the warehouse, to outside sales rep, and back inside as a Comm-Data specialist. He loved working with everyone, but he sure did hate the data entry portion. There were countless keyboards and monitors lost their lives at the hands of Bob.

In Bob’s personal life, he was an avid outdoorsman. He loved to hunt, fish, and play golf. There are tons of wonderful and funny stories involving his adventures, just ask his family and friends. He really enjoyed watching Kendall and Kyle play sports and was super proud of them both!

Bob also loved to BBQ! He was known as a Master Grill expert in his household and to his friends. He would grill no matter what the weather was like, and was even known to be outside in –20 degree weather in Alaska cooking that perfect steak or chicken!

Bob was an amazing, wonderful, loving, selfless, caring, generous, and hilarious man. He was loved and respected by everyone he met. Words alone cannot describe how deeply missed Bob is by everyone that knew him.

The family is currently making plans for the Celebration of Life Reception. Further details will be announced at a later time.

Arrangements are by the Heinlein-Brown Funeral Home of Logan, Ohio.

Though he is gone from our sight, he will forever remain in our hearts.

We miss you, Dad! You will always be the BEST DAD/GRANDPA, EVER!

Family Condolences
