James H. Burgett, age 91, of Nelsonville, Ohio, passed away January 18, 2026 at his residence.

James was born June 20, 1934, in Columbus, Ohio to Harry A. Burgett and Agneta Webb Burgett. He flew radio-controlled airplanes; enjoyed trains and working on his cars; built several cars; and loved being with his family and his grandkids.                        

Surviving are his children, Wesley Burgett of Nelsonville, Starla (Larry) Chiki of Nelsonville, and James (Marybeth)Burgett of Wellston; grandchildren Dennis (Lauren) Chiki, Cholie (Blake) Brown, Justin (Michelle) Burgett, Michael (Brooke) Burgett, 12 great-grandchildren; nephews, Steve and Tom Burgett; brother-in-law Steven of Portland, Oregon.

James was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Betty Burgett; brother and sister-in-law Wesley (Alma); sister Phaydra.

Funeral services will be held at 12 noon Friday January 23, 2026, at the Warren-Brown Funeral Home, Nelsonville, Ohio. Burial will be in New Marshfield Cemetery, New Marshfield, Ohio.

Calling hours will be 11am-12noon on Friday at the funeral home.
