Jerry Sidney Kocher, age 86, peacefully passed away on January 19, 2026.

He was born on December 22, 1939, in Marshall County, WV, to the late Elmer and Evah Kocher and had resided in Pickerington, OH. Before moving to Pickerington, Jerry and his wife, Jean, spent most of their lives in Wheeling, West Virginia.

Jerry retired after working for decades at Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel. An avid sports fan, Jerry could often be found on the golf course, tennis courts, or cheering on the Cleveland Browns and WVU Mountaineers. A reserved, yet thoughtful person, Jerry dedicated his life to serving the Lord. He was never shy about sharing the Gospel. He also enjoyed good food, especially Jeanie’s homemade noodles and pies, time with his beloved family, and finding creative ways to win at board games. 

He was preceded in death by his brothers, Kenneth, Junior, and Gene Kocher, and his sister Kathleen Nickerson. 

He is survived by his adoring wife of more than 60 years, Jean Kocher of Pickerington, OH, his daughter, Jerri Lynn Ford (David), and three grandchildren, Tyler, Brenton, and Lauren. 

A private viewing was held at Heinlein-Brown Funeral Home in Logan, Ohio.
