Helen I. “Renie” Starr, age 95, of Columbus, Ohio, passed away February 9, 2026, at St. Ann’s Hospital, Columbus, Ohio.

Renie was born November 12, 1930, in Perry County, Ohio to Charles Pargeon and Mary Brewer Pargeon. She liked to cook, bake pies, and feed others.                              

Surviving is her daughter, Patty “Janie” (Jim) Mark of Westerville; sons, Dwight (Denise) Starr of Columbus and Darin (Kerry) Starr of Columbus; grandchildren, Beth, Jennfer (Scotty), Jimmy, Ashley, Tina, Zachary, Chad (Destiny), Jarrad (Megan), Jesse (Grace), and Dylan; several great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; sister-in-law, Connie Starr; brother-in-law, Gerald Dickerson; and several nieces and nephews.

Renie was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 75 years, Leo E. Starr who passed away on September 4, 2024; son, David Starr; grandson, Brandon Starr; and siblings, Charles Pargeon, Anna Brooks, James Pargeon, Joe Pargeon, Hazel Grznia, and Jesse Self.

Funeral services will be held at 12 noon Saturday, February 14, 2026, at the Heinlein-Brown Funeral Home, Logan, Ohio with Kenneth Oswald officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Rockbridge, Ohio.

Calling hours will be observed 10 am – 12 noon on Saturday at the funeral home.
