Brenda K Ballinger, age 79, of Nelsonville, Ohio, passed away April 29, 2026, at Fairfield Medical Center, Lancaster, Ohio.

Brenda was born August 10, 1946, in Pittsburgh Hollow, Ohio to Harold Douglas and Ilene Martin Douglas. She graduated from Buchtel York High School in 1964; worked for 33 years for GTE-Verizon; was a teacher for 20 years at the First Presbyterian Church Pre-School in Nelsonville; longtime member of the Buchtel United Methodist Church; and loved her church family, shopping, and her beach vacations.                   

Surviving are her husband of 54 years, James Ballinger; daughter, Brandi Ballinger Blair of Lancaster; sisters-in-law, Nancy Davis, Rebecca Figgins, and Iris Easterling; and several nieces and nephews.

Brenda was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Lester Douglas.

Funeral services were held at 11A.M., Tuesday May 5, 2026, at the Warren-Brown Funeral Home, Nelsonville, Ohio with Pastor Dave Shoemaker officiating. Burial was in Carbon Hill Cemetery, Carbon Hill, Ohio.

Calling hours were 2-4 & 6-8 pm Monday and 10-11am Tuesday at the funeral home at the funeral home.
