Alice “Mickey” Bungard

Alice Michele “Mickey” Bungard, age 77, of Logan passed away peacefully with her family by her side December 13, 2025, at Licking Memorial Hospital, Newark, Ohio.

She was born July 8, 1948, in Logan, Ohio, to William H. and Alice “JoAnn” Walker Morgan. She married Terry Bungard on December 21, 1966.

Mickey was known in the community for her volunteer work most of her adult life. She taught many of the kids of Logan how to swim and organized their classes from 1970s-1990s. She was very involved in the Nature Festival, as well as the Hocking Hills Welcome Center. She was past executive director of The American Red Cross and Special Friends, where she mentored many local youths. She was also an active volunteer and employee of Logan-Hocking School District, from which she retired.

Mickey put her college aspirations on hold after graduating from Logan High School in 1966 to raise her family. She took the opportunity to earn an associate’s degree from Hocking College in 2003. She was recognized for her academics, as well as being the recipient of the 2003 Women Who Dare Award for her peer mentoring. She earned her bachelor’s degree from The University of Cincinnati.

Mickey loved her family above all, just a look at her facebook proves that. She loved spending time shopping and eating out with her daughter and spending time with her grandchildren.

She loved travelling and would go visit her son in Tennessee and Kentucky, until her health prevented it. She visited several states as well as Jamica. Winter and Christmas were extra special to her and “the more snow the merrier” she would say.

Mickey is survived by her husband, Terry, daughter, Alice “Suzanne” Helber; son, William Bungard; grandchildren, Dylan Helber, Rachel (Spencer) Marshall, Parker (Kirsten Waddell) Bungard, Jordan (Austin) Huffines, Brittney Polley, Breanna (Canyon) Stufflebeam, and Kylee Bungard; 3 grandsons; sister, Malei (Guy) Stewart; sister-in-law, Brenda (Mike Burch); several nieces, nephews, and cousins; and 2 aunts.

Mickey was preceded in death by her parents; grandparents, Rothbe and Audrey Walker and Thomas and Mary Morgan; several aunts, uncles, and cousins; and mother-in-law, Bessie Mays

Per Mickey’s request, there will be no services at this time. A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests, in keeping with Mickey’s love of volunteering, that you make a donation, of either money or time, to a local cause in her honor.

Arrangements are by the Heinlein-Brown Funeral Home, Logan, Ohio.
