Austin Tyler Mathias, age 23, of Ashville, Ohio, passed away suddenly on July 13, 2025, in Fairfield County, Ohio.

Austin was born June 27, 2002, in Logan, Ohio to Kevan and Kristin Mathias. Austin was always “Wrenching around”, whether that be working on trucks and tractors, or tearing things apart to see how they work. He loved spending time with the family, having bonfires, telling jokes, watching movies, and listening to music. Austin always looked forward to taking his daughter, Ady, on tractor rides while farming.

Surviving are his loving wife, Katelyn Mathias; daughter, Adalyn Mathias; parents, Kevan and Kristin Mathias; sister, Ashlyn Mathias; parents-in-law, Jill Garnett and Damien (Nicole Drum Mowrey) Garnett; paternal grandparents, Randy and Janet Mathias; maternal grandparents, Jeff and Brenda Joy; great-grandmother, Judy Joy; grandparents-in-law, Don and Linda Neff; sister-in-law, Maddyson Garnett; uncles, Nick (Kellie) Mathias and Caleb Mathias; cousins, Cooper and Camden Mathias; great-aunt, Barb (Dave) Crawford; great-uncles, Randy Herron, Rick (Debbie) Joy, and Larry (Cheryl Spaulding) Harris; numerous other family members; and friends, Drew McGee, Lane Welker, Justin Wales, and numerous other friends.

Austin was preceded in death by his great-great-grandmother, Beatrice Bond; great-grandparents, Rosella Harris, Charles Mathias, Josephine Mathias, and Loris Cauthon; great aunt, Carol Herron; and numerous other family members.

Funeral services were held at 7:00 PM on Monday July 21, 2025, at the Ebenezer Baptist Church located at 6935 Township Road 234, Logan, OH 43138, with Pastor Steve Hubbard officiating.

Calling hours were observed from 1:00-3:00 PM and from 5:00-7:00 PM on Monday July 21, 2025, at the Ebenezer Baptist Church located at 6935 Township Road 234, Logan, OH 43138.

The family is accepting donations through the funeral home to help with sudden funeral expenses if anyone would like to help.
