Charles E. Dowler, age 76, of Carbon Hill, Ohio, passed away December 26, 2025, at his son’s residence, in Nelsonville, Ohio.

Charles was born May 16, 1949, in Albany, Ohio to Lawrence Emerson Dowler and Evelyn McConaha Dowler. Formerly worked for the Hocking County Sheriff; formerly worked at the Southeastern Ohio Regional Jail; and a former member of the Ward Township Fire Dept.                        

Surviving are his wife of 37 years, Michelle Dowler; children, Jared Thomas of Carbon Hill, Jacob Thomas of Nelsonville, and Aerial White of Carbon Hill; 7 grandchildren; and a great-grandchild on the way.

Charles was preceded in death by his parents; a granddaughter; brother, Edward Dowler; and sister, Wanda Taylor.

There were no services.
