Floyd Thomas Miller

Floyd Thomas Miller, affectionately known to friends and family as Tom” or “Big Daddy,” age 87, of Logan, Ohio, passed away on January 1, 2026, at Grant Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio, surrounded by his loving family.

Floyd was born on February 8, 1938, in Vinton County, Ohio, to Earl Miller and Hazel (Largent) Miller. He was a hardworking, kind-hearted man, and all who knew him knew he was truly special. Throughout his life, Floyd worked for Carborundum, built custom homes, and later for Tri-County Community Action, from which he retired.

He had a passion for woodworking and took great pride in showing off his vintage Cadillac at local car shows. Floyd deeply valued his family and the simple joys of life.

He is survived by his loving wife of 69 years, Glenna Miller; devoted daughter Jayne (Mark Rolan) Yates of Logan; grandchildren Dustin Miller, Karena (Jacob) England, and Jessica (Austin McCann) Matheny; four great-grandchildren, Maddox, Maverik, Maddie, and Alley; several great-great-grandchildren; sisters Beverley Miller and Patricia (Gary) Glaspell; and his beloved dog, Izzy.

Floyd was preceded in death by his parents and his son, James Miller. Private burial will take place at Oak Grove Cemetery in Logan at a later date. Arrangements are being handled by Heinlein-Brown Funeral Home in Logan. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one’s choice
