Georgie Ann “Snuffy” Waldie, 80, of New Straitsville, Ohio, passed away peacefully on May 7, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family.
Born on July 18, 1944, Georgie lived a life full of joy, laughter, and unwavering devotion to her family.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Rodger Waldie, with whom she shared a lifetime of love and partnership; together they raised three children, Rodger (Dawn) Waldie Jr., Jeffery (April) Waldie, and Melissa (James) Mullins.
She is survived by her sister and two brothers with many nieces and nephews, as well as great nieces and nephews.
Georgie was a proud and cherished grandmother and great-grandmother to:
Austin (Cassidy) Mullins and their children Elliot and Marilynn; Elizabeth Mullins;
Kyler (Jaden) Mullins and their children Waylon and Sadie; Amber (Devon) Householder and their children Bentley and Briley; Christopher (Destiney) Waldie and their children Lucille and Charles; Kelsey Waldie; Jacob Waldie; Cody Beisser and his son Isiah; Patrick (Bella) Sinift and their son Silas; and Madeline Sinift and her daughter Sylvia.
Georgie was preceded in death by her mother and father, and three brothers.
Family was everything to Georgie. Her home was always filled with love, laughter, and the constant bustle of grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved the color green, never missed a good card or video game or round of bingo and enjoyed trying her luck at the slots at Wheeling Island and many scratch off tickets.
Georgie had a vibrant spirit and a heart full of compassion. Her quick wit could light up a room or keep everyone in check, and her presence was a comfort to all who knew her. She touched countless lives with her humor, honesty, and deep love for those around her.
She will be dearly missed and forever remembered by her family, friends, and all who were lucky enough to know her.
A celebration of life will be held at 11 A.M. on Tuesday, May 13, 2025, at Heinlein-Brown Funeral Home, Logan, Ohio with Father Jean-Luc Zadroga officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, New Straitsville, Ohio.
Calling hours will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 P.M. on Monday, May 12, 2025, at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family encourages everyone to share a memory or kind word, and to live with the same love and laughter that Georgie brought into the world every day.
