Gladys “Louise” Hunt, age 88, of New Straitsville, Ohio, passed away peacefully on July 5, 2025.

Louise was born August 2, 1936, to the late John Roy and Edna (Smith) Coey. Louise was a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother. She was known for her sweet tooth and her love of coffee and tea. Her warmth and gentle spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Richard Hunt; brother and sister-in-law, John Alfred and Betty (Robinson) Coey; sister and brother-in-law, William and Etta Mae (Coey) Stevens Jr.; and brother, Forrest Coey.

Louise is survived by her two sons and daughter-in-law, James Richard “Rick” and Sandy (Leach) Hunt Jr., and George Hunt; grandchildren, Brittney and Nathan Conrad, and Keri and Jeffrey Murphy; great-grandchildren, Jasey and Saylor Conrad, and Millie and Baby Boy to be, Murphy; sister, Beverly (Frank) Higley; and sister-in-law, Mary Lou Coey.

Calling hours were held on Wednesday, July 9, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Heinlein-Brown Funeral Home of Logan, Ohio. A funeral service followed at 1:00 PM. There was a private burial at Oak Grove Cemetery in Logan, Ohio.
