Jennie Mae (Davis) Altier, age 92, of Nelsonville, Ohio, passed away November 28, 2025, at Carroll Place in Lancaster, under the care of Capital City Hospice.
Jennie was born December 26,1932, in Nelsonville, Ohio, to Lewellen A. Davis and Jennie M. Dwinnell Davis.
She graduated from Nelsonville High School in 1951; retired from People’s Bank in Nelsonville after 44 ½ years; member of the former St. Mary of The Hills Catholic Church in Buchtel; volunteered at Nelsonville York Elementary School in Becky Steenrod’s 3rd grade class, Leslie Yingers 2nd grade class, and Donna Mead’s first grade class; was treasurer of the N.H.S. Alumni Association for many years; Secretary-Treasurer of N.H.S. Alumni Scholarship for many years; and life member of Ladies Auxiliary to the VFW #3467.
Surviving are her loving sons, Carl L (Roni) Altier III and Charles A. (Patricia) Altier; grandchildren, Jody (Chris) Hall, Corey Altier, Jan Michael (Connie) Altier, and Brandon (Mandy) Bailey; great-grandchildren, Tyann A. Altier, Kyleigh N. Altier, Logan G. Altier, Jaxson I. Altier, Case Hall, Keegan Wilburn, Cadence Bailey, and Quinn Bailey; brother-in-law, Ron (Karen) Altier; sisters-in-law, Rita Hillis, Eve Davis, and Brenda Tolliver; specials friends, Mary Woodard and Sandy Eckels; many friends, nieces and nephews; and her cat companion, Mittens.
Jennie was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Carl Altier Jr., who passed away October 28, 2000; grandsons, Bryan Altier and Mark Altier; sisters, Sarah Elizabeth Davis and Marie (Harlan) Richards; brothers, Reese L. (Geraldine) Davis, Charles (Dorothy) Davis, David H. Davis, and Mike (Jean) Altier; sisters-in-law, Alouise A. Altier, Josephine Wray Swarez, Margie Tolliver, Pauline (Herb) Riegler, and Helen (Lon) Adams; brothers-in-law, Paul (Shirley) Altier and Darrow Tolliver; nephews, Roger L. Davis and Rocky Tolliver; and brother-in-law and special friend, David (Jackie) Altier.
Funeral services were held at 11 am Wednesday December 3, 2025, at the Warren-Brown Funeral Home in Nelsonville, Ohio with Pastor Richard Boucher officiating. Burial was in Connett Cemetery, Nelsonville, Ohio.
Calling hours were observed 2-4 and 6-8 pm Tuesday, and 10-11 am Wednesday, at Warren-Brown Funeral Home in Nelsonville, Ohio.
