John “Jack” W. Sowers, age 91, of Nelsonville, Ohio, passed away March 2, 2026, at Laurels of Athens in Athens, Ohio.

Jack was born July 9, 1934, in Athens County to Clarence and Agnes Sowers. Jack was a beloved teacher and coach for Nelsonville York for many years.

Surviving are his special family, Robin Dorazio, Andrea Wright, Pamela Mesaros, Kaylee Wright, Bobby Bohlen, and Ciera Dorazio; friend, Tom Taggert; and cat, Kitty Girl.

Jack was preceded in death by parents and a brother.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, at the Warren-Brown Funeral Home of Nelsonville, Ohio. Burial will be at Greenlawn Cemetery in Nelsonville, Ohio.

Calling hours will be observed from 12:00 Noon till the time of the service on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, at the funeral home.
