Linda Christine Kasler Thornton, age 71, of Millfield, Ohio, passed away July 4, 2026, at her residence.

She was born on September 14, 1954, in Athens, Ohio to Melvin Kasler Sr. and Dorothy Lyons Kasler. She attended Athens High School; loved Thrift Store Shopping; was the yard sale queen; enjoyed soap operas; and loved collecting Elvis Presley items.                        

Surviving is her daughter, Lavetta Thornton of Millfield; brothers, Melvin (Barb) Kasler Jr. of Hollister and Gary Kasler of Millfield; sisters, Carolyn Snyder of Lancaster and Pam Kasler of Pomeroy; and cousins, Melissa, Brad, James, Christopher, Haley, Nicki, and Heather.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Harry Thornton, who passed away in 2003; three-day old son, Richard G. Thornton; brother, Steve Kasler; brother-in-law, Tom Snyder; and grandmother, Margaret Lyons.

Funeral services will be held at 1 P.M., Tuesday July 14, 2026, at the Warren-Brown Funeral Home, Nelsonville, Ohio. Burial will be in Hilltop Cemetery, Millfield, Ohio.

Calling hours will be 2-4 & 6-8 pm Monday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the funeral home to help with Linda’s funeral expenses.
