Mary M. Rutter, age 68, of Glouster, Ohio, passed away August 14, 2025, at Riverside Hospital, Columbus, Ohio.

Mary was born March 29, 1957, in Athens, Ohio to Marion Pickett and Mary McDonald Pickett. She was a Christian, attended local churches; and loved singing, dancing, and cooking food.                        

Surviving are her husband of 48 years, Joseph Rutter Sr.; children, Joseph (Robin Freeman) Rutter Jr of Glouster, Simon (Brandy Lowers) Rutter of Nelsonville, and Anna (General West) Rutter of Stewart; grandchildren, Olivia Anderson, Ryan West, Christopher Rutter, LeeAnn Barnhouse, Marie Barnhouse, Aria, Jacob, Charity, and Garrett; sisters, Sandra Carpenter of Jacksonville and Sue Brooks of Nelsonville; and brother, Mitch Pickett of Ashville, NC.

Mary was preceded in death by her father.

Funeral services will be held at 1 P.M., Tuesday September 9, 2025, at the Brown Funeral Home, Murray City, Ohio.

Calling hours will be observed 11am – 1pm Tuesday September 9, 2025.
