Robert Eugene Shields, age 95, of Rockbridge, Ohio, passed away October 22, 2025, at his grandson’s residence, in Rockbridge, Ohio.

Bob was born on October 17, 1930, in Chauncey, Ohio to Charles Shields and Hazel Shields. He was the owner and operator of Shields Meats, and a member of the Farm Bureau.                  

Surviving are his son, Carl Eugene Shields; daughter-in-law, Brenda Sue Shields; grandson, Shawn Allen (Karii) Shields; granddaughters, Jodi “Missy” Shields, Crystal Dawn Shields, and Jacki Lynn Shields; great-grandchildren, Wayne Pierce, Dylan Crabbe, Shadd Rooker, Stephan Rooker, Alaina Reedy, Samantha Reedy, Josie Shields, and Ian Shields; and great-great-grandchildren, Jaxson Rooker, Mia Rooker, and Kane Chevalier.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Hazel Cavinee; wife, Carlene Shields; sons, Thomas Leslie Shields and Lester Earl Shields; and daughter-in-law, Zena Shields.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M., Monday, October 27, 2025, at the Heinlein-Brown Funeral Home, Logan, Ohio with Rev. Diora Edgel officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Memorial Gardens, Rockbridge, Ohio.

Calling hours will be observed 11 A.M. to 1 P.M. on Monday, October 27, 2025, at the funeral home.
