Rickie D. “Rick” Russell, age 79, of Carbon Hill, Ohio, passed away June 15, 2026, at his residence.

Rick was born January 17, 1947, in Buchtel, Ohio, to William P. Russell and Melvina Hall Russell. He served in the US Army, serving two tours in Vietnam; and loved his grandkids, fishing, baseball and singing.                        

Surviving are his wife of 58 years, Rosann Russell; children, Scott (Teriann) Russell of Murray City, Angie Kinnison of Nelsonville, and Shawn (Clara) Russell of New Plymouth; grandchildren, Kourtney, Jordan, Tyler, Katlyn, Chelsey, Kody, and Colton; and great-grandchildren, McKenzie, Jayda, Jace, Tayeler, Bristyl, Karter, Brynlee, Brody, Landen, Kiana, Jaxon, Riley, Eric, and Boone.

Rick was preceded in death by his parents; son, Johnny Russell; son-in-law, Mark Kinnison; brothers, Vaughn Russell and Paul Russell; and great-grandson, Kruz.

Funeral services were held at 11 A.M., Friday June 19, 2026, at the Warren-Brown Funeral Home, Nelsonville, Ohio with Rev. Dr. Randy Hardman officiating. Burial was in Carbon Hill Cemetery, Carbon Hill, Ohio.

Calling hours were 2-4 & 6-8 pm Thursday at the funeral home.

Military Graveside services were conducted by the Combined Honor Guard, and the US Army Honor Guard.
