Amy Sue Hook, age 62, of Nelsonville, Ohio, passed away April 27, 2026, at her residence.

Amy was born August 19, 1963, in Galion, Ohio to Ronald Wirick and Alta Betty Kennedy Wirick.  

Known for her compassion to care for others and more than anything, she loved her grandkids. They were her world. She found so much joy in spending time with them, supporting and cheering them on. That love will stay with them always. She also enjoyed puzzles, had a fondness for flowers, and took pride in keeping a neat and tidy home.                     

Surviving are her husband, Sammy “Joey” Hook Jr.; children, Amber (Erick) Spencer of Nelsonville, Ashley Walter (Chris Warren)of Nelsonville, Daniel (Missy) Hook of Trimble, and Sammy (Wendy) Hook III of Glouster; grandchildren, Blayn, Sophi, Holden, Hayden, Huxley, Serenity, Mya ,Paxton, Brayden , Whitley and Callan; siblings, Rod (Linda) Wirick of Wayne, West Virginia, Laurie (Bob) Davis of Buchtel, and Shawn (Tracy) Wirick of Albany; and close friends, Linda Leonard, Donald Legg, and Tina Brown all of Nelsonville.

Amy was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Deb Ritter and Chris McWilliams; brothers, Mike Wirick, Ronald Wirick Jr, and Jason Wirick; and nephew, Kyle Keiffer.

Funeral services will be held at 1P.M., Friday May 1, 2026, at the Brown Funeral Home, Murray City, Ohio with Pastor Sheryl Rawlings officiating. 

Calling hours will be Thursday 6-8 pm and Friday 12-1 PM at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the funeral home to help with Amy’s funeral expenses.
