Charles Edward “Chuck” Gillespie, age 81, of New Straitsville, Ohio, passed away April 28, 2026, at Grant Medical Center, Columbus, Ohio.

Chuck was born May 11, 1944, in Braxton County, West Virginia to Harrison Gillespie and Mary Magneline Gillespie. He served in the US Army in Vietnam; and he loved serving his country, bluegrass music, muscle cars, animals, and his family.                        

Surviving are his wife, Carol Ann Gillespie; daughters, Carol Edwards, Priscilla Rushing, and Becky Dysert; brothers, Darrel Gillespie, Dale Gillespie, and Larry Gillespie; and sisters, Ella Lee Jackson, and Deann Gillespie.

Chuck was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Harold, Carroll, Ronald, and Lawrence Gillespie; and first wife, Minerva Lee Gillespie (Gillette).

Special thanks to Dale and Jim for helping in taking care of Chuck.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, May 2, 2026, at the Heinlein-Brown Funeral Home, Logan, Ohio with Pastor Sheryl Rawlings officiating. Burial will be in Knollwood Cemetery, Logan, Ohio, where Military Graveside services will be conducted by the Hocking County Honor Guard.

Calling hours will be observed 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. on Friday, May 1, 2026, at the funeral home.
