Erma Lucille Smith, age 83, of Logan, Ohio, passed away May 15, 2026, at her residence.

Erma was born November 19, 1942, in Logan, Ohio. She is a retired phone operator at Mt Carmel Hospital in Columbus and was a member of the Church of Christ in Allensville, Ohio.                              

Surviving is her daughter, Vickie Lynn (Gregory) Crabtree of Columbus; son, Gregory Robert (Sandra) Smith of Logan; grandchildren, Cynthia Ann (Joshua) Ogg of Logan, Keith Robert (Cassandra) Smith of Logan, Laura Marie Crabtree of Columbus, and Adam Christopher Crabtree of Columbus; great-grandchildren, Orion, Sophia, Gwen, Elizabeth Ogg, William and Everett Smith; sister, Shirley in Minnesota; step-children, Carolyn (Bradley) Palmer, Peggy (Mike) Bishop, and Tim (Zera) Reid; numerous step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Erma was preceded in death by her mother, Frances Sater; husband of 53 years, Robert George Smith; husband of 8 years, Cecil Reid; sisters, Mary and Carolyn; brother, Bob; 3 nephews, Rick, Christopher, and Chad; niece, Theresa; great-niece, Andrea; great-nephew, Gary; brother-in-law, Gary.

Funeral services were held at 2 pm, Tuesday May 19, 2026, at the Heinlein-Brown Funeral Home, Logan, Ohio with Al Simpkins officiating. Burial was in Fellowship Cemetery, Logan, Ohio.

Calling hours were 12-2 pm on Tuesday at the funeral home.

 Erma’s family wants to give special thanks to her nieces Cindy and Connie, for the care they gave Erma. The family also wants to thank Ally, Faith, and Lydia of Echo Hospice for the wonderful care they gave Erma.
