Herbert Troy Dickens, age 76, of Logan, Ohio, passed away May 31, 2026, at Fairfield Medical Center, Lancaster, Ohio.
Herbert was born September 30, 1949 in North East, Maryland to Comardo Collins Dickens and Vernia Mae Dickerson Dickens. He served in the US army during Vietnam; loved spending time with his family; loved music, playing the guitar, writing music; ministered at many churches; attended Faith Tabernacle Church in Nelsonville.
Surviving are his wife Sheryl of 34 years; daughter Winona (James) Mohler of Murray City, son Devynn Dickens of Logan; grandchildren Eddie (Megan) Azlin of Logan, Ariana Azlin of Murray City, Hunter (Lina) Stivison of Newcomerstown; great-grandchildren Nova Azlin, Linkin Stivison; sister Mickey Workman of Logan; many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Herbert was preceded in death by parents; son Troy Dickens; siblings Boyd Dickens, Dorothy Workman
Funeral services will be held at 1:00P.M., Friday June 5, 2026 at the Heinlein-Brown Funeral Home, Logan, Ohio with Pastor Tim Kelly officiating. Burial will be in Knollwood Cemetery, Logan, Ohio. Military graveside service will be conducted by the Hocking County Honor Guard.
Calling hours will be observed 11am-1P.M. on Friday June 5, 2026, at the funeral home.
