Karen Sue McManaway, age 82, of Nelsonville, Ohio, passed away June 2, 2026 at O’Bleness Hospital, Athens, Ohio.

Karen was born August 20, 1943 in Nelsonville to Charles Warren and Effie Garner Warren. She was a 1961 grad of Nelsonville High School; formerly worked at Goodyear in Logan and Kokers Sporting Goods in Nelsonville; member of the Nelsonville Wesleyan Church; member of the Nelsonville Senior Citizens; loved quilting; a member of the Nelsonville Quilt Guild; she donated many quilts to the Athens County Foster System                        

Surviving are her husband of 62 years Jim McManaway; sons Michael (Stephanie) McManaway of Bremen, Mark (Sherri) McManaway of Shade; grandchildren Natalie Thomas-McManaway, Christopher McManaway, Sarah McManaway, Erin McManaway; brothers Charles Roger Warren of Nelsonville, Gregory Warren of Nelsonville; and several nieces and nephews.

Karen was preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral services will be held at 1P.M., Friday June 5, 2026 at the Warren-Brown Funeral Home, Nelsonville, Ohio with Rev Mike Thomas officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, Nelsonville, Ohio.

Calling hours will be 4-7pm Thursday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the Athens County Children’s services, office for foster care.
