Mark Alan Unger, age 65, of Laurelville, Ohio, passed away July 28, 2026, at his residence.

Mark was born on August 11, 1960, in Logan, Ohio to Jerry Lee Unger and Phylis Marie Unger. He was a graduate of Logan Elm High School; served in the US Army; worked at Kroger; was a history buff; and enjoyed hunting and the outdoors.    

Surviving is his brother, Terry (Betty) Unger; sister, Kim (Jeff) Hunter; nephew, Justin (Beth) Smith and great-nephews and niece, Ethan, Cameron, and Makalyn; niece, Lacie (Kevin) Smith and great-nephew, Bennett; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Mark was preceded in death by his parents, Jerry and Phylis Unger; grandparents, Pearl and Ruth Unger, and Lewis and Viola Wagner; and best friend, Buster.

There will be a graveside service at a later date at the Pine Grove Cemetery, Rockbridge, Ohio.
