Luella Jean Chiplinski Collins, age 85, of New Lexington, Ohio, formerly of Glouster, passed away August 12, 2026, at her residence.
Luella was born September 10, 1940, in Jacksonville, Ohio to Elmer McKinley Cochran and Hattie Mae Braglin Cochran. She was the last one living of her generation; loved word searches; loved the little things in life; and loved hanging out with her family friends, grandkids, and especially her great-grandkids.
Surviving are her daughter Mary Wilson of New Lexington; grandchildren, Anne (Mark) Steiner, Jeannie (Jeremy) Barry, Savannah (Sean) Selby, Dallas Hilleary, Jackie (David) Hughes, Eric (Alex) Chiplinski, Billy Love, Kayla (Jerramie), and Jennifer (Gavin) Underwood; and several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Luella was preceded in death by her parents; son, Elmer Chiplinski; daughter, Dianna Lynn Hilleary; grandchild, Charles Kilgore; siblings, Clophia Dwight Cochran, Leoma Emily Wilson, Burt J. “Dick” Cochran, and Christy Mae McKee; and special friend, Ralph Elders.
Funeral services will be held at1pm Saturday August 29, 2026, at the Brown Funeral Home, Murray City, Ohio with Pastor Randy Foust officiating. Burial will be in Glouster Cemetery.
Calling hours will be observed 11am-1pm Saturday August 29, 2026, at the funeral home.
