James Paul Scarberry, age 63, of Heath, Ohio, passed away September 26, 2026, at his home with his family.

“Paul” was born June 14, 1963, in Columbus, Ohio to Paul Fredrick Scarberry and Rose (Scarberry) Forrest. He served in the US Army; played bass in a Christian Band; a pastor in the Church of God; a former police officer; and a business owner.         

Surviving are his mother, Rose Marie Forrest; wife, Rayenetta Scarberry; daughter, Elisabeth (Matthew) Neumann; grandchildren, Grace and Maxwell; brothers, Lenvil Forrest and David Forrest; and sisters, Kim Blamble and Terri Apart.

“Paul” was preceded in death by father, Paul Scarberry; stepfather, Lenzy Forrest; and grandparents, James and Marie Messinger.

Graveside services will be held at Asbury Cemetery 22483 SR 278 S, Nelsonville, Ohio at 1:00 P.M., on Saturday, October 3, 2026, with Pastor Josh Hartman officiating. Military Graveside services will be conducted by the Hocking County Honor Guard.

Arrangements are by the Heinlein-Brown Funeral Home, Logan, Ohio.
